Few boats better define a manufacturer during a particular period than does a 1988 Sea Ray 390 Sundancer. Sea Ray re-designed their fleet during the 1980's based on the euro-styling of the 390 Sundancer. "Scarlett" is a fine example of that design and is powered by a strong pair of Caterpillar's classic 3208 diesel engines. Her interior features a spacious salon/galley area, a forward master suite with island berth, a guest stateroom that will convert into extension of the salon area and a good size head with stall shower. Recent upgrades by the seller include a custom installed 32" flat panel TV, audio sound bar and newly configured systems alarm panel at the helm. Electronics include a JRC color radar/chartplotter/GPS, auto pilot, depth sounder and VHF radio. Model History
When introduced in 1984, the Sea Ray 390 was the queen of the fleet and represented the largest model the manufacturer had produced to date. Her aggressive euro-style was to be adopted by Sea Ray's full line of express boats, to great success and fanfare. During her remarkable eight years in production, the exterior styling remained constant as did the basic interior arrangement. The most notable changes to the vessel were interior cosmetic updates including a transition from the original mica woodgrain to white mica with real teak trim in 1988. Also note the the forward centerline berth was modified to a true island berth in the last couple of years of production. There were basically two engine options, the gas boats were powered with 340hp MerCruiser straight inboards and the diesels boats by the remarkable Caterpillar 3208 at 375hp. "Scarlett" is powered by the Cat engines and features the white mica with teak interior and the original centerline berth.Construction
Sea Ray Boats are of conventional construction built with polyester resin and E-glass fiberglass cloth and mat. The hull is a solid fiberglass laminate layup below the waterline with cored hull sides above. The hull is reinforced with a marine plywood stringer system encapsulated in fiberglass. The deck is also a fiberglass laminate with coring used to stiffen the fore deck and cockpit sole. The hull to deck joint is a "shoe box" style that is chemically and mechanically fastened together. The cabin is entered via a centerline sliding door and down three steps. To port is a large L-shaped settee with hi-lo table. Opposite on starboard is a U-shaped galley with small breakfast bar forward. The guest stateroom or mid-cabin is forward of the galley on starboard while the head with stall shower is forward of the settee on port. The master stateroom is located in the bow and features a large marine-queen centerline berth.Salon
Recent upgrades include a 3/4" engineered bamboo cabin sole throughout the boat, flat panel TVs in the master stateroom and salon along with a KVH satellite TV antenna. The salon area is open and well lit. The light colored wood sole is an wonderful addition and a vast improvement over the original wall to wall carpeting.

Guest Stateroom
The guest stateroom is one of the most unique areas inside the boat. First of all, there is a retractable aft bulkhead, which separates the cabin from the galley. With the bulkhead down and the stateroom door open, this cabin becomes part of the main salon area. Furthermore, the upper and lower berths will convert to make a settee, so the area can become a small den, that can be opened to the main salon area, what a great idea!
